Not all showrooms will allow visits by unaccompanied
clients, so please check with the showroom in advance.
Advise your clients they will be required to show a letter
of introduction to every showroom they visit in the
Building.
Designers who do not give a letter of introduction to their
client in advance may send it via fax to the D&D Building
Marketing Department at 212-751-2771. Clients should be
instructed to pick up the letter at the concierge desk in
the lobby.

ASTRA
With terrace overlooking Manhattan's East 59th
Street bridge. This restaurant is operated by renowned chef and restaurateur of
Aureole fame, Charlie Palmer, ASTRA offers lunch, take out, and
catering. Open Monday through Friday, 11:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Private bookings are available. To contact

Conference Center
ASTRA functions as our conference center and
site for special events. It is complete with
state-of-the-art
audio/visual equipment and high-speed wireless internet
access. The conference center can seat 200 people theater style
and 100 people classroom style. This space is available
for conferences, sales meetings and industry functions.

Designer Lounge & Library
Available to designers
Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M.
to 5:00 P.M. Facilities include meeting space and a design reference library for in-house use.
Marketing Office
Located in suite 1400, you can purchase D&D Building

and learn information about the building.
Coat Check
Located between ASTRA Café and the Management
Offices. Open Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M.
to 5:00 P.M., October - May.

designer to make limited purchases in the D&D Building. For

Sample Returns
Many Happy Returns, Inc., located in suite 1615 in the
Window Modes showroom, will return all samples - carpet,
fabrics, wallpaper, etc. all over New York City. Please call

Express Elevator
For your convenience, we have one express elevator in the
main elevator bank. This elevator operates exclusively
between the lobby and floors 11 through 18.
Freight Elevator
Available Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
for freight deliveries to and from all showrooms. Freight
elevator is closed daily between 12:00 P.M. and 1:00 P.M.
Garage
Open 24 hours a day and located next to the D&D
Building, Square Parking is at 206 East 59th Street. Day
and evening discounts are offered to designers and their
clients with validation from participating showrooms. For

Restrooms
Conveniently located on every floor except lobby. Handicap
accessible restrooms are located on the 2nd, 8th and 14th floors.
CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS & SERVICES
Designer Seminar Series
Save the second and fourth Tuesday of each month for the
Designer Seminar Series! Lectures by leading designers,
editors and industry experts, covering a variety of topics,
focusing on current issues, trends and materials, as well as
resources specific to the design industry. Each seminar
begins at 9:30 AM, in ASTRA on the 14th floor of the D&D
Building, with a reception following the seminar hosted by
one of our showrooms. Schedule and CEU information can be

Market Days
Our Fall Market, often held in conjunction with home shelter
magazines and industry trade organizations, examines all
aspects of design and the decorative arts. Events are
scheduled throughout the day including presentations
discussing the cultural, historical and social contexts of
design. In addition, the Fall Market brings much anticipated
new product line launches with product demonstrations and
inviting showroom open houses.
Book Signings
Special lectures and receptions are co-sponsored by
Potterton Books and various showrooms throughout the D&D
Building. Guests have a chance to hear and discuss the
author's thoughts, research and writings in an intimate
setting, while networking.
D&D Building Directory
The annual D&D Building Directory is available to design
trade professionals for $20.00. It can be purchased at the
concierge desk in the lobby, in the marketing department in
suite 1400 or in Potterton Books, suite 101. To order one by
